Original Abstract

The pulsed electromagnetic coupling to a narrow perfectly electrically conducting strip is analyzed using the concept of external impedance. For postulated spatial electric-current distributions, the problem is reduced to an integral equation of the time-convolution type that is, under the narrow-strip assumption, solved numerically via a marching-on-in-time scheme. Illustrative numerical examples concerning the impulsive plane-wave incidence demonstrate the space-time behavior of the induced electric-current density.
