Original Abstract

Laminate structures are increasingly widespread and it is necessary to monitor the condition of the structure during static and fatigue tests. There are many NDT methods that can be used to detect the range of internal damage. Individual methods have their advantages, disadvantages and specific use. These methods include acoustic emissions. This method is not very widespread for testing laminate aircraft structures, thus providing space for finding the appropriate use and application of this method. Appropriate placement of sensors can monitor large areas and determines the method for application to test larger structures, such as fuselage sections or wing. A specific feature of this method is that it can detect only failures that occur during loading. Other failure such as manufacturing defects that occur in the structure cannot be located, until they are forced by external influence to spread.
