Original Abstract

Biodegradable polyurethane (bio-PU) elastomers with potential use as scaffolds in regenerative medicine were synthesized using poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), poly(caprolactone) (PCL) and hexamethylene diisocyanate catalyzed with stannous octoate without any solvent under inert atmosphere. Effect of bio-PU composition on the swelling and hydrolytic stability was investigated together with testing mechanical properties. The morphology of prepared samples was analyzed by optical microscopy. Chemical composition was proved by infrared spectroscopy and the thermal properties were measured by differential scanning calorimetry.
