Original Abstract

One of the methods to determine degree of metal corrosion in concrete is the analysis of acoustic emission (AE) characteristics. The acoustic emission behaviour of reinforced concrete beams can be investigated to characterise and identify different sources of damage including microcrack development localized crack propagation and debonding of the reinforced steel.
