Original Abstract

Owing to the optical sectioning property, confocal scanning microscopy became the effective tool for non-destructive investigation of surface topography. The holographic confocal microscopy exhibits comparable sectioning capability without the need for a scanning system. Moreover, both the image intensity and the image phase are recorded.
