Original Abstract

Vibrational distribution of N_2 (B ^3 Pi_g) state was studied during pure nitrogen DC afterglow in Pyrex tube using the optical emission spectroscopy. The tube around the observation point was cooled down to liquid nitrogen temperature. The populations were significantly changed by the mercury traces depending on the vibrational level. The simplified kinetic model was proposed, too.
