Original Abstract

A testbed demonstrator of crypto-agile optical transport is presented. The demonstrator is built around 100G encryptors in which session keys are derived from two independent sources: an embedded post-quantum cryptography (PQC) key establishment and an external quantum key distribution (QKD) system. The QKD quantum channel is carried on a dedicated fiber, while the QKD service channels are wavelength-multiplexed together with the high-speed encrypted payload onto a single shared fiber using a coherent 16-QAM transmission system. Hybrid keying is validated for continuous operation under varying key availability, and a practical approach to integrating QKD into existing coherent optical networks with minimal additional fiber infrastructure is illustrated.
