Original Abstract
Lithium iron phosphate was synthesized via spray drying synthesis to compare the effect of two different iron precursors: ferric citrate and ferric acetylacetonate. The synthesized powder was subsequently calcinated at 650 °C under a nitrogen atmosphere. SEM analysis revealed spherical particles below 2 µm for both routes, while EDS showed complete absence of phosphorus in the samples prepared with ferric citrate. TGA indicated significantly lower residual mass for this precursor. On the other hand, the results for the sample with ferric acetylacetonate show corresponding ratio between iron and phosphorus and, at the same time, according to XRD, the formation of a corresponding LiFePO4 phase.
