Original Abstract

The paper presents one of the possibilities of shear connection between steel and concrete parts of a composite beam. Using this innovative system, called pcb-W (precast composite beam – coupled in Web) technology, the longitudinal shear forces between steel and concrete are transmitted by composite dowels instead of headed studs. The paper also describes all the necessary preparations for forthcoming standard push test, evaluating the suitability of using high performance concrete with added values for such technology.
