Original Abstract

In this work the problem of communication within a group of mobile autonomous robots is being addressed. A protocol for structuring and maintaining an ad hoc network in situations with high mobility is proposed and tested in a simulation. The communication is based on the Bluetooth wireless technology. The protocol proposed here is distributed, executed by each node running a similar state-machine as proposed in the Blue-star islands system [5]. The applied rules and required properties of the resulting network are adapted from Bluenet [4] and BTCP [3]. The basis of the protocol that maintains and assures connectivity through the network is based on the principle proposed in [2].
