Original Abstract

The objective of the present work was to simulate swirling flow in a cold-flow down-scaled model of a calciner. The primary (carrier) phase is air, which carries particulate matter (diatomite). Simulated operating condition has been chosen by the customer from a set of settings, documented in detail by an experimental study published in the Masters thesis of David Ott (2013, Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin).
