From 1 July to 30 September 2026, the Botanical Gardens of Masaryk University is once again transforming into an open-air gallery. The ninth year of the exhibition Sculptures among the Flowers presents works by students of the Sculpture Studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts at BUT (FFA BUT) and continues the long-standing cooperation between BUT and the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University.Pavlína Temcsáková, Sugarwind Fairy, 2026. | Author: Václav Koníček
The sculptures were created under the guidance of the artist and teacher Michal Gabriel and Tomáš Medek and are placed throughout the garden as well as in its greenhouses. Admission to the outdoor area is free of charge, while standard admission fees apply to the greenhouses. The official opening took place on Thursday 18 June at 5.00 p.m. directly in the garden, where the authors personally presented their works. Practical information
Eva Jahnová, Teddy, copper, 2026. | Author: Václav Koníček As in previous years, the exhibition beautifully illustrates the connection between art and nature. Each year, the Sculpture Studio works with a diverse range of materials – from classic plaster, concrete or bronze to wire or textiles – and does not shy away from cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing. Some installations thus create an unexpected contrast with the surrounding greenery, while others blend into it seamlessly. Alžběta Trpáková, The Dog and the Hyena, 2026. | Author: Václav Koníček
