When a sharp mind, passion, and a good idea come together, entrepreneurship emerges. In the final round of the 6th edition of the BUT Student Entrepreneurship Award, projects that combine technical expertise, social impact, and solid business potential stood out. Eight student projects competed for the top positions. The announcer of the competition, BUT Rector Ladislav Janíček, recognized those ideas that have real potential.

It is a digital product passport (DPP) for fashion products. The solution enables the clear identification and tracking of a product’s lifecycle, thereby supporting transparency and circularity in the clothing industry. Since the second round of the competition, the creative team has made significant progress – completing the product, gaining its first paying customer, and establishing business cooperation with specific partners. At the same time, the team demonstrated a very good understanding of how the market works, refined its target segments, and systematically developed its business strategy, clearly addressing the existing need for a digital passport with long-term market applicability.
Second place was taken by Lucie Oborná (BUT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – FME BUT) with the project CueBleed. It is a training device that simulates arterial and venous bleeding. When bleeding occurs, every minute matters, and the simulation must be as realistic as possible. The simulator ensures quality and safety in training procedures in emergency medicine thanks to realistic feedback and the repeatability of training. CueBleed is currently finalizing the development and practical verification of the simulator while also refining its commercial strategy, with the educational nature of the product significantly shaping the size of the market, pricing, and distribution approach.Lucie Oborná presented CueBleed. The system streamlines planning and supervision of printing, reduces error rates, and supports the scaling of operations in workshops and companies. Since the second round, the project has significantly deepened its knowledge through market research and validation in order to systematically refine its target segments, confirm relevant user problems through qualitative interviews and pilot testing, and adjust its product and business strategy accordingly to move closer to practical deployment.Third place went to Miroslav Pejř with his PrintrBot project for automating the operation of 3D printing farms. | Author: Michaela Indruchová
