At the recently concluded IDET International Fair, the Brno University of Technology (BUT) also reminded defense technology enthusiasts of its presence by showcasing nine top-tier exhibits. BUT attracted attention especially with a swarm of drones and robots controlled by artificial intelligence elements, which received an honorable mention for innovative exhibit in the Golden IDET fair competition. The awarded technology also caught the attention of the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, during his visit to the BUT booth. At the end of the three-day event, an agreement was signed between BUT and Honeywell, enabling BUT students to train on advanced F-35 technologies.

Specifically, it was one of three that received an honorable mention for innovative exhibit.
Researchers from FEEC BUT Luděk Žalud and Petr Marcoň received an honorable mention for an innovative exhibit at the IDET trade fair. | Author: IDETThe Faculty of Chemistry at BUT, in cooperation with ATHEX Technology, presented the MobiSHIELD ballistic wall, which offers exceptional durability and mobility. The exhibit attracted significant interest from both state security representatives and the private sector.
Ballistic protection is also the focus of materials research at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering BUT. The exhibit showcased samples of multi-layer ballistic protection, which combines the properties of metallic and non-metallic materials and offers increased resistance to external influences and ballistic loads.
