As a member of the FIT Student Union, she is also actively involved in student life at the faculty. Her advice to prospective students is simple – find a good group of classmates.Emma Krompaščíková, student at the Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology. | Author: Jan ProkopiusEmma chose her university mainly with the goal of strong graduate employability in mind. However, thanks to her studies at Brno University of Technology, she ultimately gained much more. She managed to connect two worlds she enjoys – biology and computer science – and solve real biological problems using technology, which she considers one of the most interesting aspects of her field. In addition to working on real problems related to bioinformatics, Emma also gained practical experience through internships during her studies and had the opportunity to work with the Barbora supercomputer. “Having such an enormous computing machine at your fingertips was a really fascinating feeling,” she says enthusiastically. Along with modern equipment, she also appreciates the unique premises of the faculty, which are connected to a historic monastery.Author: Jan ProkopiusThe atmosphere at the faculty is characterized above all by a strong student community. Although studying can sometimes be demanding and places high expectations on students, Emma says there is a strong willingness among students to help each other. “I was surprised by how much university studies are about collaboration. It’s great preparation for the future, because we will definitely be working in teams,” she highlights.Author: Jan ProkopiusEmma is also a great example of the fact that studying at BUT is not only about academics. As a member of the FIT Student Union, she actively participates in events and activities at the faculty, which also led to her becoming part of the admissions campaign. “The union gives me the opportunity to help organize various events, such as the FIT Student Ball, and at the same time meet many amazing people across different years,” she says with a smile. What she enjoys most about studying in Brno is the city itself. “Everything is close by, there are plenty of great cafés and cultural events, and you never get bored,” she adds. And what would she say to her high school graduating self? “It will be more challenging than you think, but don’t be afraid. If you don’t understand something, just ask.”Author: Jan ProkopiusMore information about studying can be found on the website Here You Can Start, and applications can be submitted in the E-application section.Whether you are interested in modern technologies, cutting-edge research, or creative work, don’t hesitate and submit your application to Brno University of Technology! #HereYouCanStartRelated articles:
