How can modern technologies be used in construction? This question is answered by the new study programme "Construction Project Execution and Digitalization of Buildings", which opens this September at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology. This four-year bachelor’s programme offers comprehensive education from project preparation to construction management, combining technical and managerial knowledge with current trends in modern construction and digitalization. Applications can be submitted until July 15. FCE is launching a new study programme. | Author: Václav Koníček As part of the curriculum, students will become familiar with modeling software for building design, gain knowledge about production processes and their optimal flow, and learn to work with time, financial, and quality planning in construction. The goal of the programme is to educate versatile construction specialists who are competent in both traditional construction and in the field of innovations, digitalization, and modern technologies. A compulsory one-semester internship is also part of the Construction Project Execution and Digitalization of Buildings programme, during which students connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience in a real construction environment. They can complete the internship at one of the cooperating construction companies, such as Hochtief, PSG, Geosan Group, MSU, Staeg, Zlínstav and Metrostav. "Construction Project Execution and Digitalization of Buildings is not only about design and calculations, but also about how to effectively implement a project under given conditions using modern technologies. Thanks to digital methods, students will be at the forefront of today’s construction industry," said Vít Motyčka, the programme guarantor, adding that the admission process is currently open. Graduates of the Construction Project Execution and Digitalization of Buildings programme can work as site managers, construction planners, BIM coordinators, or investment engineers. Important dates:
