Advent evening filled with music. BUT invites you to the Vox Iuvenalis Christmas concert

One of the university year's favorite cultural events is approaching. Brno University of Technology cordially invites you to the traditional Christmas concert of the Vox Iuvenalis choir, which will take place on Friday, December 19 at 7:00 PM in the atrium of the BUT Rectorate. Come and enjoy the unique Advent atmosphere and get into the spirit of the upcoming Christmas holidays.

 Under the direction of conductor Jan Ocetek, the university choir Vox Iuvenalis will perform a selection of classical musical works with a Christmas theme. Visitors can look forward to pieces such as On the Birth of the Lord by Adam Michna of Otradovice, Hymnus adventualis and Pastorela by František Xaver Thuri, or the cycle Carol by Antonín Tučapský, whose melodies evoke the tradition of Czech Christmas carols and transport listeners into a magical winter atmosphere.

The singers of Vox Iuvenalis will be accompanied by the chamber orchestra Collegium Musicum, led by Eduard Tomaštík. The concert is intended for the general public, students, and university staff, and offers an opportunity to pause for a moment and enjoy a pleasant Christmas experience. Admission to the concert is free.

The Vox Iuvenalis University Choir. | Author: Václav Koníček

The choir Vox Iuvenalis is an amateur mixed choir whose members are primarily students and graduates of Brno universities. It was founded in 1993 by graduates of the Vídeňská Grammar School and has been the official choir of Brno University of Technology since 2000. Their repertoire includes works from the 16th century to the present, with emphasis on choral compositions and 20th-century sacred music. Thanks to their high quality, they focus especially on lesser-known, yet demanding and unique musical pieces.
