Have you ever played blackjack with a robot? This weekend you’ll get the chance! BUT invites all robot enthusiasts, young and old alike, to the VIDA! Robots event, taking place on Saturday 24 January at the VIDA! Science Centre. Artificial beings and machines from Brno University of Technology will show that robotics is not just about complex algorithms, but above all about fun and creativity. Robots will fill Brno's VIDA center. | Author: Václav Koníček The programme, designed for robot fans of all ages, starts at 10:00 and offers a full day of entertaining and educational activities. Visitors will find out what robots do when no one is watching – how they perceive the world and which robot components are now being produced using 3D printers. They will also get up close with an almost two-metre-tall humanoid robot, see a dancing box robot and even let children try controlling a small robotic SpongeBob. They will also get to know the hexapod, a six-legged multipurpose robot designed to move in challenging terrain, and the bravest visitors can play blackjack against a robotic dealer directly from their mobile phones. At the Crazy Bugs stand, children will build their own robot from a motor, batteries and fuzzy wires – and take their finished creation home. During the Get the Robot Moving! workshop, they will meet the robot Tobbie II and teach it to drive around, turn and dance. And in the racing simulator by TU Brno Racing visitors can turn into formula drivers for a moment.
